THE SERAFINS celebrate MUSICAL FAMILIES

Mother's Day reminds us of the importance of families, and many musical masters spring from a family legacy of music-making.

The Serafins' May program features music by the Schumanns and Brahms, as well as Felix Mendelssohn. All these musical "greats" were surrounded by musical influences of parents, siblings, or "family of the heart".

Join The Serafins at Grace UMC, downtown Wilmington (or via livestsream) on Friday, May 8th at 7pm and hear an innovative and passionate piano trio by Clara Schumann, the fantasy world of Fairy Tale Pictures by Robert Schumann, the heroic Sonatensatz by Brahms, and Felix Mendelssohn's time-honored D Minor Piano Trio. Read Giansford, Jacques-Pierre Malan, Amadi Azikiwe, and Kate Ransom make up the ensemble.

Then, on June 4, at 4:30, RANSOM NOTES! features siblings Kate and William Ransom performing an hour of favorites for violin and piano by Beethoven, Brahms, and Reynaldo Hahn. This is one of the dynamic pair's favorite venues - and they are looking forward to the setting, the audience, and to taking Stonegates' new Steinway grand piano for a joy ride! This siblings have both been world-traveling musicians, and their musical partnership goes back to their single-digit years! If this musical bounty isn't enough, stay afterwards for a sumptuous reception created by the master chef Darragh Matheson, and chat with the musicians!
